The Netbeans IDE has a shortcut to create a new PHP file/class/interface if you right-click on your project. Recently this hasn't been working for me. When I try to create a new file this way, the dialog opens to enter a name for the file, and when I ckick OK the buttons on the dialog grey out and the dialog doesn't close. You have to press escape to get out of it, and your file isn't created. It seems a recent Java update for OS X 10.5 breaks this feature. Reportedly it is a know bug Apple engineers are working on. In the meantime, a suggested fix is to remove /System/Library/Java/Extensions/AppleScriptEngine.jar (I just renamed mine in case removing it has side effects and I need it back). It did the trick.
